Echo Drift
14" x 18" | Cyanotype with Ink and Gold Leaf on Cradled Panel
Echo Drift traces the subtle remnants of motion — vertical sweeps of deep blue and charcoal that carry whispers of green and fractured gold, like soft currents breaking over hidden reefs. Created through a process of cyanotype layered with inks, salt, and water, each mark emerges from the unpredictable dialogue between pigment and light.
Specks bloom like distant plankton or stars in a dark tide, while fine gold lines mark gentle disruptions, catching the eye and inviting it deeper. This is a quiet study of how stillness can hold the memory of movement — how water, even when at rest, seems to echo where it’s been.
Created through an intuitive cyanotype process with inks, salt, and water, the composition was exposed to natural light and shaped by chance. The forms that emerged evoke the ever-shifting edge between sea and sky — fluid yet grounded, intricate yet open.
