Golden Roots
22" x 28" | Cyanotype with Gold Leaf on Stretched Fine Art Paper, Mounted on Cradled Panel
Like a glimpse into an illuminated undercurrent, Golden Roots pulses with depth, movement, and quiet radiance. Layers of inky indigo, rust, and burnished ochre flow like mineral-rich water — a landscape shaped by elemental forces. Wisps of gold leaf rise from the base, stretching upward like glowing tendrils or roots catching the light, grounding the composition with warmth and grace.
Created using a painterly cyanotype process enhanced by ink, salt, and water, the work reveals itself only after exposure to sunlight and careful rinsing. No two pieces are ever the same — shaped by time, chance, and the artist’s intuition. The addition of hand-applied gold leaf adds a luminous dimension, catching and shifting with the light throughout the day.
Golden Roots evokes themes of emergence, grounding, and unseen strength — a visual meditation on what lies beneath and the beauty that grows from it.
